Privacy Policy for “Sunbirds” mobile game
Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 14, 2018.
Symphony Games (“we”, “us”, “our”) released a mobile app named Sunbirds (the “app”). This page informs you what Personal Information from users of the app we collect, use and disclose and the choices you have regarding that information.
Personally-Identifying Information
-
No collection without opting in
When you install and use the app without explicitly opting in to multiplayer mode during your use of the app then no personally-identifying information is collected.
Collection after opting in to multiplayer mode
You can however opt-in to multiplayer mode during your use of the app. If you do so, the app displays an explanation text saying that you have to agree that personally-identifying information like your name, your foto and your highscore can be displayed on devices of your friends when they use the app. If you confirm this by clicking on the Button that says “Ok, I agree” then the following happens:
A Facebook Login Screen appears asking you to grant permission to the app to access your Facebook public profile and your Facebook friend list. If you grant this permissions Facebook will provide to the app a unique and app specific ID that identifies you for the purpose of using the granted Facebook permissions. The app uses the granted permissions to load your Facebook profile foto and your Facebook name and saves this information on your mobile device. Moreover the App loads the according information (foto, name and ID) of your Facebook friends (given they have also already granted the aforementioned permissions to the app) and saves it on your device. The reason for this is that the fotos and names can be displayed during the use of the app to show highscore rankings.
All fotos and names are only saved on the users device and not in an online database provided by us so we don’t collect it. But be aware that also your Facebook friends will download your foto and name onto their devices and it will there be displayed as well during their use of the app.
Furthermore your name will be mentioned in push notification texts that are sent to your friends to inform them about your game progress from time to time.
Beside your foto and your name the other personal information in the app is your highscore, that you create by playing levels. This highscore together with your unique and app specific ID from Facebook is saved in an online database provided by us. The reason for this is so your friends can request your highscore from this online database so your highscore connected with your name and your foto will then be displayed on their devices during their use of the app for the purpose of highscore rankings.
Your highscore is recorded for each game level and consists of the ingame points that you have achieved in this level, the progresses during the level where you achieved portions of this points, the ingame event types that created the point portions, and the ingame coins and ingame flags you earned in this level (while ingame coins represent your position in the level ranking and ingame flags represent the number of times how often you finished the level).
Together with your highscore we save your app and device specific push notification token which is also downloaded by your friends to enable them to send push notifications to you that inform you about their game progress from time to time.
By opting in to muliplayer mode you agree to the described use of your personally-identifying information.
For the sake of storing highscores and push notification tokens in multiplayer mode we work together with Playfab, which is a backend platform for games. For technical reasons a Playfab ID is created for every user that stores his highscore in the online database using the multiplayer mode. The Playfab ID has no other function than the unique and app specific Facebook ID and is not used in another scope than described before for this unique and app specific Facebook ID.
For more information on Playfabs privacy policy see https://playfab.com/privacy/
All communication with the online database is SSL secured.
Revoking your agreement
If you have opted in to multiplayer mode but want to revoke your agreement that your personally-identifying information can be used as described before you can do so by logging out. To log out go to the options menu inside the app. The options menu can be accessed from the main screen by the button that shows a question mark (“?”). In the options menu is a button saying “Facebook Logout” where you can perform the logout. If you do so, then all Personal Information described before is deleted. That means your name and your foto, as well as the names, fotos, and highscores of your Facebook friends are deleted from your device. Moreover your name, foto and highscore will be deleted from your friends devices (though it may take some moments till their devices get updated with your decision of opting out). And your highscore will be deleted from the online database. Your highscore will only remain locally on your device.

Apart from the personally-identifying information that is only used after your explicit prior consent as descibed before the app uses non-personally identifiable information, that means information that is not connected to your identity (your name, your foto, etc.) but to your device.
